George Flowers
George Flowers is President of Preferred Shipping. George has been at the helm of Preferred Shipping from its beginning in September 1992. He is a graduate of Purdue University with an undergraduate degree in Accounting. George received his MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. George was also a Professor of Finance at Houston Baptist University. George has 18 years experience in the transportation business.
Adam Young
Adam Young is a Senior Manager in Sales, Logistics & ISR Support and has been with Preferred Shipping Team for 10 years. He works primarily as a high level account manager and employs sales and marketing strategies to grow Preferred Shipping’s business while always being a true advocate for all his customers. Adam has a 26 year background in shipping and logistics that is very diverse. Prior to joining the Preferred Shipping Team, Adam was with DHL for 17 years. His positions ranged from Operations Manager and Supervisor to Customer Service Call Center Manager to Area Call Center Manager where he managed 10 regional call centers for DHL. Because of his understanding of DHL’s inter-workings and his many relationships, he has proven invaluable in helping Preferred Shipping’s international shippers manage any operational or service issues they may encounter.
Gary Christensen
Gary Christensen is Director of ISR Relations Gary’s background includes 30 years experience in the transportation industry. He has specialized in building and supporting an independent agent network for several companies, spending 15 years with Greatwide-Dallas & Mavis making it one of the fastest growing, most successful agent based companies in transportation.
John Bramlage
John Bramlage is Director of National Sales. John joined our team in April 2011 and brings over 10 years experience in international shipping sales, sales management, and small business ownership to bear on our growing sales and marketing efforts. Prior to joining the Preferred Shipping team, John owned a related business in the Midwest. He brings a wide range of skills and experience to our team, having spent time with large corporations like Mead Paper in Detroit and Cleveland, to spearheading construction of a high school building for a small Catholic school in the South Pacific.
John is responsible for sales and marketing efforts including TeleSales and Field Sales support of our expanding Independent Sales Representative (ISR) network. John received a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from Wright State University and earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Dayton.
Terry Futschik
Terry Futschik joined Preferred Shipping in May 2010 as the Controller of company-wide finance, compliance & management of office staff. Terry brings a well rounded experience in the Banking & Accounting industries were she was successful in many roles for more than 16 years. Her experience also includes operating her own Bookkeeping business.
Barbara Ludwig
Barbara Ludwig is the Preferred Shipping Director of Customer Relations. She joined the Preferred Shipping Team in 2006. Barbara has extensive experience in customer service as well as inside sales and shipping support. She spent 12 years working for a small company as an office manager which gave her the expertise to handle all aspects of managing Preferred Shipping’s customer service activities. Barbara handles customer quotes, carrier technology and tracking needs and customer pick up requests. Barbara also assists Preferred Shipping’s customers with domestic and international shipping advice and paperwork.
Jerry Rockwell
Jerry Rockwell is the Preferred Shipping Sales and Marketing Coordinator. He has worked for Preferred Shipping for more than 7 years. Prior to joining the Preferred Shipping team he worked for Coca Cola for 19 years in the Marketing and Finance department. His knowledge and experience enables him to handle the billing and accounting functions for Preferred Shipping. Jerry also performs customer service activities handling billing questions and IT assistance with carrier technology as well as all other customer service functions.
Courtney White
Courtney White is the Preferred Shipping ISR (Independent Sales Representative) Coordinator. Courtney is responsible for insuring the successful on-boarding of new ISRs. She coordinates training & conference activities. Courtney also has a primary roll in lead sourcing provided to our outbound call center sales lead qualification program. In addition Courtney prepares customer and ISR eBlast communications. She also has a secondary roll in direct customer service when needed.
Dena Gray
Dena Gray is a Preferred Shipping Customer Service Representative. She joined our team in November 2011. Dena is an accomplished & professional person with a background in legal administration and service through her work with Bennett & Secrest a successful Houston law firm. Dena brings her experience and customer-focused determination to the Preferred Shipping Customers.
Ian Cullen
Ian Cullen is a Preferred Shipping Account Manager. Ian joined River Oaks Couriers in 2006 (sister company of Preferred Shipping)and has held almost every position in River Oaks from driver to order entry to sales, even dispatching on occasion. Ian currently provides sales support for both Preferred Shipping and River Oaks Couriers. A graduate of the University of Houston- Downtown, Ian’s experience in customer service makes him a great advocate for his Preferred Shipping and River Oaks Couriers customers. Ian is well versed in all areas of International and LTL shipping as well as Local Courier and Delivery services and has the ability to provide top quality comprehensive personalized service to all his customers.
Tom Lyons
Tom Lyons is a Preferred Shipping Account Manager. Tom has more than 20 years managing and selling freight and courier services including working for River Oaks Couriers, DHL and Airborne Express in operations and sales management. He is capable of providing hands on international logistics, LTL services, as well as Local Courier and Heavy Weight Freight services. Tom currently provides sales support for both Preferred Shipping and River Oaks Couriers. Tom is always up for moving the most unusual and the most challenging shipments of any kind.
Mark Futschik
Mark Futschik is a Preferred Shipping Account Manager. He has over 15 years of sales experience in the Oil & Gas field. He is capable of providing hands on international logistics, LTL services, as well as Local Courier and Heavy Weight Freight services. Mark currently provides sales support for both Preferred Shipping and River Oaks Couriers.
